We are pleased to announce the formation of Mower Racing UK
The aim of the group is to share knowledge and best practice between all Lawn Mower Racing clubs in the UK and build some common ground, which will allow all lawn mower racers to have mutual respect for other clubs.

The first step in this journey was a recent meeting which was attended by:
Michaela Nott & Pete Jeffery of Barum Mower Club
Ian Ratcliff & John Lowdell of the British Lawn Mower Racing Association
Paul Tindall & Colin Poore of Mower Madness
Daz Whitehead & Tony Dwight of the North West Lawn Mower Racing Association
Neil Sparey & John Brian Griffiths of the West Midlands Lawn Mower Racing Association

During the meeting we focused on health & safety, and it’s fair to say that everyone who attended left the meeting having learned something new. The first step towards common ground between all clubs is a basic set of safety rules. To achieve this, we aim to adopt a common set of safety rules through-out the 2015 season for all clubs.

Looking forward, the next step following successful adoption of the safety rules will be to work towards a common set of basic technical rules. This will not happen overnight, nor does not mean that one club will get its own way! It will be a methodical process done with the intention of giving racers the option to compete in any club they choose. Individual clubs will always retain specific technical rules that are unique.

As and when other lawn mower racing clubs are formed in the UK, they will also be invited to join Mower Racing UK.

We hope you all see this as a positive move which will benefit our sport in the short-term and provide a sustainable long-term future for lawn mower racing in the UK.

You can speak to any of the above people if you have specific questions about Mower Racing UK.
