We will need assistance on Thursday 29th with two gangs of members to off load bales at Rusper Raceway ready for the mid-August meeting and then at Horndean for the Double 4 hour. Without everyone’s help with this task these meetings can’t be run. We will be sending out more information nearer the time about when and where help is required, but please can you all make a note of it in your diary.
As with the 3 hour race, each team will need to supply marshals for the race as we cant race without them.
On behalf of the Race Committee I would like to thank all of your for your patience while we have been working to secure a cost effective alternative to the 12 hour that we had to postpone. For those of you that entered the 12 hour, your cheques have not been banked and will be destroyed at the end of next week, unless you want them returning. If you do want them back, then please send me an SAE and I will return them, otherwise they will be destroyed.
Regards
The BLMRA Race Committee
It is with great regret that we have to announce the postponement of this year's 12 hour endurance race to 2011.
Your 12 hour race committee has spent the last few days trying to contact every racer that has entered the 12 hour since 2008 to check to see how many more entries will be forthcoming for this years event We have managed to contact most people, but have only managed to find another 4 teams wishing to enter and it is clear that the recession has hit us hard, with entries down 50% upon last year.
We have explored many avenues, but cannot escape the fact that with so few entries, the race is unfortunately financially unviable to run this year.
We have now turned our attention to a possible replacement event for that weekend, more details will follow in due course and will start to plan for a the 2011 12 hour race shortly.
We will be contacting the current entrants in due course and let them know about their entry and deposit cheques.
